Barra Resorts Mozambique
Barra Resorts packing tips for your Mozambiquean Holiday
Some packing tips:
- Bathing suits, sunglasses, sunhat, sunscreen, torch, kikois or wraps and shoes for the beach (that can get wet e.g. flip flops). We do suggest sneakers for some activities.
- Any prescription medication that you may require, as resources to medicines are limited in Mozambique.
- Light, cool and informal clothing to be worn during the day but in the evenings something smart casual or beach chic would be more appropriate.
- Don’t forget your batteries or chargers for cameras, phones etc.
- The local Mozambique currency is the Metical however SA Rand and US Dollars are widely accepted. But, American Express & Diners cards are not used in Mozambique, so if you are likely to pay using a credit card, we suggest you bring along a Visa or Master card. The lodges do not accept debit cards, travellers cheques, American express or diners cards.
- Did you know that Mozambique banks do not accept small head USD notes or notes printed before 2006? So, please keep this in mind if you are taking Dollars.
- For our diving enthusiasts, please don’t forget to bring along any diving certification cards or log books to prove your certification.
- Please bring your own fly-fishing gear or tackle for all those fishing enthusiasts.
